After a few days of social media teasers, H. Moser & Cie releases an all new red-dial model to their Heritage Collection. THE JUICE:
H. Moser & Cie is fairly known for being both ends of the spectrum of watchmaking. On one side, you have some pretty out there designs. We’ve recently covered the Streamliner Pepetual Calendar, which is something I would consider more out there, while the Heritage Dual Time is a bit more reserved.
The model features the brands signature Fume sunburst dial with it’s more recently popular etched sapphire logo (pictured above). It’s actually so blended in, that it can be hard to see under regular circumstances, adding to the brands penchant for minimalism.
Additionally, similar to the Endeavor model released last year, the movement allows for the second timezone hand to be hidden behind the hour hand. This allows to wearer to “convert” the watch into a more traditional 3 hand watch. The HMC 809 movement, unlike the Endeavor model doesn’t feature a small seconds or AM / PM indicator - a welcomed reduction in complications. Additionally, the movement features a date window at 6 o’ clock.
The strap is also unique in that it doesn’t use a traditional leather. For the Heritage Dual Time, a Kudu leather is used, which is a kind of African Antelope. It’s supposedly very soft, and easier to keep clean. I’m interested to see this piece in the metal, because I’ve never felt Kudo Leather before.
A lot of enthusiasts are going to find this a bit… blah. In fact, I’ve already heard a few people go “Okay, it’s Patek Pilot New York” - a sentiment I don’t particularly agree with, even if it’s a fairly predictable release. It’s a very clearly Moser watch, and the brand has always dazzled. The Heritage Dual Time, I’m sure, will have no problems selling out.
How Much Is the Moser Heritage Dual Time?
So far I haven’t seen a limited number released, so the watch should be relatively available, and come with a price tag of €19,000 ($22,000 USD).
