Tag Heuer Carrera Green Dial Special Edition

In keeping up with the seemingly endless trend of green dial watches, Tag Heuer releases its “Wait, us too” version - the Tag Heuer Carrera Green Dial Special Edition. Limited to 500 pieces. Featuring a…. you guessed it, green dial - the model showcases some pretty clean vintage vibes and blends the Carrera DNA well - Despite it not actually being the vintage Tag Heuer Green.

The Juice:

All things considered this is a beautiful offering from Tag Heuer. The vintage green does fit the Carrera collection very well - although I think I would have opted for a more traditional Irish green of the old Tag Heuer. Although, I suppose that has been done enough already. The 39mm case is a great size for a HEUER02 based chronograph, and I don’t foresee the brand having a particularly difficult time offloading 500 of these guys.

I do foresee, however, a strong aversion to the vintage aged “faux-tina” lume on the dial. Personally, I don’t see an issue. I think it fits the watch well, and doesn’t take away from the overall aesthetic of the watch.

Overall, this is a fantastic offering from the brand. Would I personally wear this watch? Absolutely. Would it be a watch that makes it to the top of my list of desirable chronographs? Also yes. I think the $6,650 price tag is a bit steep, but considering the low amount of these being made, it fits the price. I don’t think these will have any issues selling out pretty quickly.
