Brad Pitt's Wristwatches Over the Years - From Rolex and Patek Philippe to Breitling

I wanted to focus a Historical Watches post on one of the most celebrated American actors of the current generation, Brad Pitt. Pitt is known for many different films, including Fight Club, Oceans 11 (and the sequels), Inglourious Basterds (one of my personal favorties) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Pitt seems to be an avid watch collector as he has been seen throughout the years wearing many different timepieces, including many Rolexes and even a limited edition Cartier Tank. His pieces have tended to be pretty understated, not the ostentatious pieces many actors and athletes have been pictured wearing of late.

Early in his career (around the early 2000s), around the time Pitt was acting in movies such as Fight Club and Ocean’s Eleven, Pitt was often seen wearing a fairly simple Rolex Explorer.

Pitt has also been spotted wearing one of the most currently sought after timepieces, the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 with blue dial. This watch was gifted to him as an engagement present from ex-fiance Angelina Jolie in around 2012. It is unknown whether he kept the watch after the couple went through a tumultuous divorce in 2016. Inquiring minds definitely would like to know.

The gold Cartier Tank a Guichet, mentioned above, also showcases Pitt’s great taste in watches. The Tank a Guichet is a very unique timepiece, powered by a “jump-hour” mechanism in which the hour and minute figures are revealed behind two small windows on an otherwise completely gold face. This piece was first produced by Cartier in 1928, though Pitt’s is a limited edition of just 100 pieces.

In 2019, Pitt was introduced as an ambassador of Breitling. Since then, you would be hard-pressed to find Pitt wearing anything other than a Breitling. One of the Breitlings Pitt has been seen wearing most often is the Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Norton.

And just last week, Pitt was spotted incognito (though with buddy Bradley Cooper) at the U.S. Open Men’s Singles Tournament. He was wearing another Breitling, this time the handsome Breitling Super Chronomat B01 44mm. This piece retails for $9,000 USD.

Though Brad is currently a Breitling ambassador, he was spotted recently wearing one of our favorite watches: the Vacheron Historiques 222. Since its reissue in 2022, it has been one of the hottest watches on the market. This may be due to the smaller size (37mm) along with the interesting tonneau case design mixed with the notched bezel. The watch is a perfect match of vintage inspiration with modern design. The Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222 in yellow gold retails for $69,000 USD.
