THE JUICE:
So, interestingly, you’ll notice above that one of the specs of the watch is a little odd when considering watches in this price point. Deerskin leather. This is because as part of Oris’ Change for the Better Campaign, the brand has collaborated with leather goods manufacturer Cervo Volante.
Cervo Volante was started in 2017 With the goal of taking waste, specifically Deer leather, and making goods out of it. This includes shoes, wallets, purses, and now… Watch straps.
The watch itself isn’t that much different from the brands traditional Big Crown Pointer Date, save for the color pallet (inspired by alpine hues), and of course the straps. The trio of watch dials will come in an almost “lagoon”-esque blue, grey, and hunter green. The stainless steel case measures in at a modest 38mm, features the brands signature big crown and pointer-date function.
Inside the watch is the Oris 754 - an SW200-1 based workhouse. Standard features, 4-Hz, 26 jewels, and 38-hours of Power Reserve.
The star of the show is the deerskin leather strap. The strap features a light brown color and is branded on the belly with a beatle, and “Cervo Volante” pressed into the leather. Additionally, a unique leather carrying roll-pouch is included as packaging.
How much is the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date x Cervo Volante?
So far, the brand claims these watches will not be limited editions in any capacity, and come with a modest price tag of $2,000 USD.
