INTRODUCING: The Baume & Mercier Classima
For hundreds of years, Baume & Mercier has pursued excellence in the science and art of the chronograph. Since the late 1800's when the maison competed in chronometry competitions, chronographs have been intricately linked to its history. Fast-forward to 1997; the modern chronograph joined Baume & Mercier's affordable, everyday-wear Classima collection. Today, the Classima chronograph continues to be a crowd favorite - so much so that the brand is releasing it in 3 new colorways. Introducing the Classima M0A10782, M0A10783, and M0A10784 - in sand, green with slate, and blue respectively.

THE JUICE:
Baume & Mercier's Classima is, as you might guess from the name, a classic collection. Timeless styling combine with Swiss quality to make these timepieces perfect to wear in almost any circumstance. Up until now, there was minimal choice when it came to buying a chronograph in the collection; however, that is no longer the case. With the introduction of 3 new colorways in the staple colors of blue, green/slate, and sand, there is a hue for everyone. The 42mm polished stainless steel case surrounds a sun-satin dial in the respective color. Readability can be a challenge with a chronograph but Baume & Mercier prevents this with long hour and minute hands that pass over simple indices. A quick glance at the watch is thus able to provide time, chronograph specifics, the date, and the day of the week.
At the heart of the new Classima chronographs is an automatic movement with a power reserve of 50 hours. With a versatile watch like this, the reserve is more than sufficient as you may find yourself reaching for it day after day. The movement is also available for gazing at through the exhibition case back. Further solidifying its place as a versatile, everyday timepiece is the nearly 50m of water resistance it offers and the quick-change spring bar in the strap. The watch has a durable case yet keeps its appeal through its smooth curvature.
With its Classima collection, Baume & Mercier has presented versatile and comfortable watches that can easily match formal attire or casual wear. Every release to-date in this large collection has held a price tag of $5,000 USD or less. Finding a timepiece that innately embodies quality, style, and affordability - as well as a Swiss made movement - is a rarity today. With the 3 new colorways of the Classima Chronograph, it appears Baume & Mercier has created a new timepiece that hits that trifecta.
