Tudor Black Bay Ceramic
Price: $5,024 USD; Case Size: 41mm; Water Resistance: 200m; Movement: Automatic; Crystal: Sapphire.
The Black Bay collection was introduced in 2010 and takes its inspiration from Tudor’s heritage of dive watches of the 1950s and 60s, like the large “Snowflake” hands also found on the Black Bay Ceramic. The white hands and hour markers are a bold pop of color against this all-matt black ceramic case. Tudor has successfully maintained the vintage and robust look of their heritage into a more contemporary piece keeping up with today’s technology. They introduced their first in house movement (MT5602) in 2015 in the Black Bay collection. The movement features a 70-hour power reserve and the brand has included it in the Black Bay Ceramic. Oris Aquis Date
Price: $1,750 USD; Case Size: 43mm; Water Resistance: 300m; Movement: Automatic; Crystal: Sapphire.
When it comes to dive watches Oris and their Aquis collection comes in at the top of a lot of our lists. Oris is an environmentally conscious brand that gives back to organizations fighting to preserve our oceans. In the past they’ve released limited edition pieces in their Aquis collection where the proceeds helped restore coral reefs or New York Harbor’s oysters. They’ve also introduced an upcycled model where the dial used plastics from the ocean to bring more awareness to ocean pollution. Therefore, the stainless steel PVD coated Oris Aquis Date model has found a spot on our list. The dark grey plating is almost black and contrasts with the bright orange details. This model in particular may not give back to environmental projects, but we value Oris’ ongoing efforts and think this is a great dive watch with its affordable price point and 300m depth capabilities. It is available for $1,750 USD.

Richard Mille continues to create ultra haute-y, high end unique timepieces - Often boasting bold colors in their curved tonneau cases. The RM 47 Tourbillon that made it on our black watch list is another grand piece. This one has historical roots with its inspiration as the Samurai code, the noble Asano Clan in particular. The dial is a Samurai decked out in his armor and holding two swords which have been made using 3N 18k yellow gold. The front and back of the Samurai as well as all of its intricate details are visible through the crystals on the front and back of the piece. The case has been created from two materials. The bezel and caseback are a matt black TZP ceramic while the case band is made from 3N 18k yellow gold. Overall, the piece captures an important part of history and depicts the Samurai code of ethics, or Bushido, which is still significant across Japan. The Asano clan is a noble Samurai clan (47 Ronin) that takes center stage in this watch with their crossed falcon feather crest at the 6 o’clock tourbillon. Energy is then stored in an accumulator to power two motors — one powering the seconds hand and the other powering the hour and minute hands. The incredibly fast-moving rotors are visible through the open worked dial. In order to conserve power if the watch is not set in motion for five or more minutes the seconds hand will automatically stop while the hour and minute hand continue to tell time. The Accutron DNA retails for $3,300 USD.

Omega’s fully monochromatic black Seamaster may seem like an unexpected color choice for a dive watch, but they’ve put lots of thought and work into making the piece legible for any dive. The success of the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon “Black Black” pushed Omega to create an all-black ceramic dive watch. H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Chronograph Blacker than Black
Price: N/A; Case Size: 40; Water Resistance: 120m; Movement: Automatic; Crystal: Sapphire.
Quite possibly the blackest watch on our list is the H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Chronograph Blacker than Black due to its Vantablack coating. Vantablack is known to be the darkest substance that exists (absorbing up to 99.965% of visible light) and was first introduced in the UK by Surrey Nanosystems in 2014. Vantablack is a carbon nanotube coating and are densely packed on a surface to create the blackout effect. For this model the full watch was constructed in Vantablack except for the hands, which distinctly stand out against the super black piece. It was a concept piece introduced by the brand at the 2022 Watches and Wonders convention and is too fragile to be worn. H. Moser & Cie are working to develop it further to make it more shock-resistant and usable. You can learn more about the Streamliner collection here.

Price: $2,825 USD; Case Size: 42mm; Water Resistance: 300m; Movement: Automatic; Crystal: Sapphire.
Longines has long produced high quality Swiss watches at relatively affordable prices. And one of our favorite pieces from the brand is the Legend Diver. The watch draws inspiration from Longines' dive watches of the 1960s. Unlike most dive watches this piece does not feature a bezel, but rather an internal rotating flange controlled by one of the crowns. The lack of a bezel gives the dial a larger appearance on the wrist. The Longines Legend Diver retails for $2,825 USD.

Casio G-Shock CasiOak GA-2100-1A1
Price: $99 USD; Case Size: 42.9mm; Water Resistance: 200m; Movement: Ana-digi; Crystal: Mineral.
It doesn't get much more affordable than G-Shock. And that is probably why we are constantly including G-Shocks on our list. One of the more stealth options we really like is the the CasiOak GA-2100-1A1 with full black dial, case and strap. The CasiOak collection actually was launched with this exact model. The name "CasiOak" was given to the model by collectors since the octagonal bezel resembles Gerald Genta’s famous Royal Oak design. If you aren't in the market for a Royal Oak, you can always pick up a CasiOak for $99 USD.
Casio G-Shock DW5600E-1V

You really get a whole lot packed in for a great price. Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon Black Dragon
Price: $1,000,000 USD; Case Size: 47mm; Water Resistance: 30m; Movement: Manual; Crystal: Sapphire.
Jacob & Co. loves to create boldly unique pieces for the high-end market. We particularly love the Astronomia collection due to the combination of highly technical functionality mixed with pure artistry. The Astronomia Tourbillon Black Dragon showcases this combination perfectly. Not only does the watch feature a tourbillon movement, but the watch displays a hand-carved 18k black gold dragon with ruby eyes. The rotating globe is lacquered in black magnesium. The diamond and the double axis tourbillon are the main contrasts in this mostly black piece. The Astronomia Tourbillon Black Dragon is truly a work of art. Price for the Astronomia Tourbillon Black Dragon is $1 million.
Brew Metric PVD Black
Price: $475 USD; Case Size: 36mm; Water Resistance: 50m; Movement: Hybrid Meca-Quartz; Crystal: Sapphire.
We all know that Brew Watches are inspired by coffee and espresso machines. However, the Metric PVD Black is also inspired by vintage cars of the 1980s (in addition to being a watch collector, founder Jonathan Ferrar is also a big car enthusiast). We particularly like that the Metric PVD Black opts for a little pop of red for the subdial hands and chronograph second hand. Coming in just under $500 USD ($475 USD) it’s a great choice if you’re looking to add more black watches to your collection.
