36 Best Watch Straps to Buy in 2024
It’s certainly no surprise that in the watch world, there is plenty of diversity in tastes. As watches themselves are accessories, many take to “accessorize their accessories” as I found one forum dweller to explain. That’s being swapping out bracelets, straps, and rubber bands for other bracelets, straps, and rubber bands from third parties (a lot of brands often offer their own line of custom straps). Before the holidays, we thought that we’d assemble a lineup of some of our favorite strap and band options for that watch lover in your life who has a drawer full of straps at his disposal. So without further ado, let’s get into it.
Horus Watch Straps
Arguably the king when it comes to luxury watch straps, Horus Watch Straps started out provide fitted rubber straps for the list of Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Omega. Today, the brand has branched into just about any brand you can think of, even providing more universal straps for any watch. Their rubber quality is top notch, and although they’re on the pricier side of the market, the quality certainly matches the sticker shock. With the price of some simple textile and rubber straps from luxury brands, Horus actually provides a decent price point compared to going directly with the brands (especially when they don’t have post-retail strap options).
Horus x Maison Gris
One of the coolest offerings from the brand is their “Horus X Maison Gris” offerings – A custom universal fit leather strap that features all kinda of designs. Whether it’s a race-car, a palm tree, or a bird, the seemingly hand-painted prints comes from the mind of Maison Gris, a privately contracted artist out of the UK. Each strap features a prominent design and can be yours for between $325 USD and $425 USD depending on the design .
Camo Collection
Horus is mostly known for it’s Camo Collection. While the Camo Collection also comes with fitted straps for many prominent brands, the collection also features a number of universal fit that are also plenty attractive and fit most any watch. Horus has a number of different color and camo designs, whether you’re a fan of more subdued camo’s like a regular Army Green, or something a little more eccentric like a digicamo or ocean camo. The collection ranges in price depending on which style you want, with many of them costing around $65-95 USD, but for the more elaborate once for Audemars Piguet or Patek Philippe run around $250 USD .
Rubber B Straps
Rubber B claims to be the first watch brand that integrated straps and bracelets for Rolex, which is arguably true, but they do make some of the best watch straps on the market. Similar to Horus, Rubber B is on the pricier side, but again, provides some of the highest quality straps on the market. They offer a wide range of fitted straps for the likes of Rolex, Patek, Omega, and the Apple Watch (Among many others), they also offer a slew of universal fit straps, and those are some of our favorites. Their straps area all finished and manufactured in Switzerland to obtain the highest industry standard.
Swim Skin CUFF Series
The Swim Skin CUFF Series is probably among the more popular collections, especially amongst the dive watch or military watch collectors. Each strap is made of Rubber B’s exclusive “SwimSkin” material, which is a high-tech textile material with a lot of durability. Since it is a cuff style strap, it extends underneath the watch case, similar to a Bundt, but without the round shape. This gives the overall appearance quite a unique look. You can pick up a Swim Skin CUFF for $300 USD.
Rubber B Structure
The Rubber B Structure is unique in that it marries two materials in a unique way. Brand’s like Zenith and Bell & Ross have added a rubber housing for leather straps, and Rubber B successfully throws their hat in the ring with the Structure. Featuring a number of colors and leather options, the universal fit strap is a great price at $220 USD .
Everest Watch Straps
As another firmly luxury strap, Everest Straps offers both fitted and universal straps. Personally, they offer my favorite lineup of fitted Rolex straps. The brand offers a number of strap options for Rolex, Tudor, and Panerai, as well as a solid lineup of universal fit straps. Their claim to fame is the Rolex offerings and if you’re in the market for an alternative to Rolex’s steel bracelets, Everest has you covered.
Rolex Fitted Rubber
As their quintessential lineup, Everest Straps fitted Rolex straps are some of the best (if not the best) in the industry. Being both fitted to the case and the clasps, Everest does what not many fitted Rolex strap companies do and have the clasp included in the fit. This means that if you want to use the Oyster fold-over clasp, it can be fitted to the strap. They have textile, rubber, and leather straps in this collection, and depending which option you go with, they’ll run you $220-$240 USD.
Universal Leather Collection
In addition to their fitted offerings, Everest offers a number of universal fit straps. Our favorite is their Leather Collection. They offer two different kinds of straps here – One is a simple calfskin vintage style strap, and the other is a simple stitched leather strap with a slightly tapered angle that makes it great for any style watch you could think of putting it on. The no-fuss simple look is attractive and the perfect fit for both that dress watch and sport watch, and comes with an easily palatable price tag of $120 USD .
Aaron Bespoke
Piece Unique (By Order Only)
Being able to personally vouche for the quality and absolutely dizzying selection of leathers and color combinations, Aaron Bespoke is one of my favorite strap makers on the market. Aaron has made me a number of straps for everything from my personal brand, to my Speedmaster and Yacht-Master II. While Aaron is technically “By Order Only” he’s very responsive and fairly quick on fulfilling orders. I personally would use Aaron if you’re in the mood to figure out something funky that isn’t offered by anyone else, or isn’t readily available on the market. If anyone can figure out how to make your strap idea a reality, it’s Aaron. Since it’s by Order Only, prices vary, but Aaron Bespoke is very fair .
Delugs
Delugs is a relative newcomer to the scene (2018), but has really made a name for themselves both in quality and customer service. Starting as leathercrafters of things like wallets and belts, the creators or Delugs were also watch collectors, and decided it was time and made sense to start making watch straps to fill the gap between low quality and low cost straps, and artisanal leather straps with huge waiting lists. And fill that gap they have. Delugs certainly won’t be the cheapest of your leather straps, but you can rest assured the quality is there.
Natural Babele
One of our absolute favorites is the Natural Babele. The simple cross-hatched grain leather is just an elegant option for swapping out a bracelet or more hardened leather strap. The leather comes from the Tempesti Tannery in Italy, and is incredibly soft and pliable, ensuring a comfortable fit. We find it fits really well with a smaller bezeled stainless steel case, like an Oyster Perpetual or an Oris pointer date. It’s definitely a vintage-esque strap that casualizes a lot of more rigid watch models, and that’s why we love it. You can pick one up for $95 USD, a more than fair price.
Chromexcel Rally Strap
On the same casual side, we have the Chromexcel Rally Strap. The vintage inspired rally strap is perfect for just about any chronograph, and the Chromexcel leather is more traditional in nature compared to the Babele leather above. It harkens back to the Newman days or racing, and just oozes that vintage racing goodness. The offset large/small holes provide quite a bit of visual interest to the watch, and will pair well with just about any color. You can pick this strap up for $95 USD as well .
Barton Bands
Moving on to some cheaper options that still pass the quality test, we have Barton Bands – One of the most prominent aftermarket strap companies there is. Barton does a good job of balancing the quality of their products versus the price tag. Sure you may not be able to get some of the crazy customizations or the vast array of options typical of one of the ateliers above, but it’s a simple no-fuss, solid quality strap that you can get Prime delivery on, and will most likely always be in stock.
Elite Collection
The Barton Elite Silicone strap is mostly likely the first place any seasoned enthusiast’s mind goes when “Barton Bands” get’s brought up. The simple bi-color silicone strap has an obscene amount of size and color options ensuring that the rubber strap will match any watch you are optioning a rubber strap for. And further, the brand has recently added quick release spring bars so enthusiasts can change the watch strap at a red light if they want. I myself probably have 10 of these in various color options. You can find these straps for $22 USD on Amazon.
Gaucho Leather
The Gaucho Leather watch strap is one of the more surprising, but also unique options from Barton Bands. The Argentinean Gaucho wrapping has been practices for centuries in South America, and isn’t often seen on many watch bands in the industry. The brand features a number of color and size options for these, ensuring there’s a Gaucho watch band for everyone. You can pick one of these up for a modest price of $41 USD.
Teddy Baldassarre
Teddy Baldassarre is one of the preeminent YouTubers in the watch industry. Known for his informative reviews and interviews (like of Mr. Wonderful himself, Kevin O’Leary), Teddy is a respected voice in the watch industry. And, Teddy has expanded his empire beyond YouTube to become an online authorized retailed for many brands, including Oris, Tissot and Longines. And beyond selling watches, Teddy also offers accessories, including some very premium watch straps. Here are a few of our favorites from Teddy’s inventory.
Vintage Nubuck Calfskin Strap
Everyone loves a high quality Nubuck Calfskin strap, and Teddy’s offering is extremely nice. The strap is vintage in feel, but not in an over-the-top way. Instead, there is slight signs of distress throughout the strap, that gives it some added charm. Offered in 4 colors (dark grey, light grey, tan and brown) and 5 lug widths (18mm, 19mm, 20mm, 21mm, and 22mm) you wont’ have a hard time finding one that fits your watch. The Teddy Baldassarre Vintage Nubuck Calfskin Strap retails for $120 USD .
Shell Cordovan Leather Strap
If you are looking for a watch strap with a little more shine, Teddy’s Shell Cordovan leather straps might do the trick (I mean, who doesn't like this type of leather?). These straps let the premium leather do the talking. There is minimal stitching across the top of the strap, and the rest is just the beautifully treated shell cordovan leather. Perfect for if you are looking for a change of pace on your Rolex Submariner or Oris Big Crown Pointer Date, you can pick up the Shell Cordovan Leather Strap in either brown, tan or black for $120 USD .
Archer Watch Straps
Archer Watch Straps are pretty similar to Barton Bands in a lot of ways. The brand offers lower cost rubber, leather, canvas, and nylon straps. They aren’t as elaborate, and draw from some vintage design elements, but overall provide a quality product that doesn’t hurt to hit “Add to Cart”. They’re also available at many online retailers, including Amazon, so if you’re in a bind and need a strap quickly, you have some options.
Silicone Quick Release
Another simple, no-fuss rubber strap option comes from Archer Watches. Similar to Barton in that these silicone watch straps have a bunch of different colorways, Archer offers a simple unicolor option with quick release. What makes Archer a bit unique is the colorways the brand uses. While they do feature some of the bolder colors, their pastels really stick out. The hushed tones make matching specific watches a lot more simple and streamlined. And the $16 USD price tag doesn’t hurt either .
Seatbelt Weaved Military Style Strap
The first Nato strap to make our list, Archer Watch Straps “Seat Belt” nato strap is quite a looker for the pricepoint. The lined fabric strap features a bit of a sheen (similar to Omega) with a variety of color options – Again with some unique tones. The Seat Belt Quick Release is a military inspired textile strap designed to be used in rugged conditions for those that don’t want the weight of a bracelet, the pull of a rubber strap, or the stickiness of leather in the elements. It’s simple, and doesn’t break the bank at $19 USD .
The Strap Tailor
The Strap Tailor is another moderately priced strap company offering both fitted and universal watch straps, though they mostly sell universal fit. The company does offer a wide variety of options in just about all their categories. The do offer some funky variations, so if you’re looking for something a little different, start at the Strap Tailor and go from there. Another cool thing they offer is bespoke straps on request, so even if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, they can probably make it for you.
FKM Rubber Collection
If you’re in the market for a high-quality FKM rubber strap (Like some of the above companies) but don’t want to dip your toes into the often unsureness of budget options, The Strap Tailor provides an excellent option for you right in the middle. Their FKM Rubber collection is still very high quality, universal fit FKM Rubber material at a fair price. They still offer a lot of the same configurations, with a SoftFit underbelly and a quick release for a modest $56 USD .
Premium Fabric
While we don’t have a ton of Nato Straps on our list, we feel it worth mentioning that The Strap Tailor offers a great selection of high quality fabric straps with a ton of color and configuration option in their Premium Fabric Collection. Whether you want something more modern, or something a little vintage, the Strap Taylor is probably going to have what you’re looking for. They even offer it with a rubber underbelly to avoid any kind of irritants in the field. You can get the Premium Fabric straps for between $24 USD and $38 USD .
Uncle Seiko Straps
Uncle Seiko may be one of the more renowned strap providers to even the most casual collectors. Uncle Seiko started and continues to be a family-run strap company with the goal of providing high quality straps for Seikos, and many other well known brands. I’ve personally used them for a number of my Seiko’s (Nothing like a seven-link on classic divers watches). Further, the owners take a portion of the proceeds and help impoverished children in Kenya, so you know that you’re money goes to good work when you’re purchasing from “The Uncle”.
“Irezumi” Rubber
One of the sleepers provided from Uncle Seiko is their rubber collection. Really decently priced, the Tattoo Series features an “Irezumi” pattern rubber strap in the traditional Seiko flex style. Irezumi is a cool, minimal design language drawing clean lines of Japanese mythology and culture – In this instance, the traditional wave and cloud pattern. Utilizing deep grooves to allow the rubber to slip over a wetsuit, the “Irezumi” is both useful and cool. With so many minimalistic rubber straps from many of these brands, it’s cool to see something a little different. Price for the “Irezumi” Tattoo Rubber Strap is a modest $39 USD.
Calfiskin Leather Collection
On the more traditional side of things, Uncle Seiko provides a number of high quality calfskin leather straps. Personally having a couple Horween Chromexcel straps myself, I can vouch for the quality and softness of Uncle Seiko’s leather. Unlike a lot of similar offerings in the same price point, it’s hard to argue with the pliability of Uncle Seiko’s Horween leather versus some of his competitors at just $45 USD.
Crown & Buckle
Crown & Buckle is another legend in the industry – And their unique approach to watch straps is something that garners trust from even seasoned collectors. Since the team at Crown & Buckle are watch enthusiasts themselves (as opposed to some other brand’s that are just pass-throughs for textiles), a lot of thought goes into each kind of strap they offer. They were very successful early on and quickly grew to a bit of a powerhouse in the ultra-competitive space of watch straps. For that, we respect them, and their products truly speak for themselves.
Chevron Collection
Arguably one of the (if not the) quintessential collections from Crown & Buckle is their Chevron watch straps. The NATO style straps come in a dizzying array of options including an all-new urban camo collection that we just love. They’re all incredibly comfortable, flexible, and have options that can be matched to just about any watch you’d try. And it’s really hard to argue with the $32-49 USD price-points.
American Made
“American Made” is always a unique stamp on textile products because so few are verifiably made in the USA. Crown & Buckle has an entire collection of suade and leather straps that are made right here in America. They offer a variety of hues, and since each one is hand-made, the hues can vary from piece to piece giving the strap you’re wearing it’s own variation, and thus a unique strap that no one else will have the identical strap to. I’m partial to the ‘Pebble Sky’, but they also have a really cool suade camo strap as an offering in this collection. Prices for these straps start at $100 USD , and go up a little depending on the leather and configuration.
Hirsch Watch Straps
If you’ve been around the industry for even a moderate amount of time, you’ll have heard of Hirsch Watch Straps. While the company isn’t necessarily the highest quality in the industry, they do offer some premium products at reasonable prices. And since they do sell on Amazon as well as they’re own website, it’s an added value not to have to wait a long time for shipping. Hirsch Watch Straps was born out of Watch Obsession, an online retailer and a staple.
Andy Calf Leather
One of the more unique offerings from Hirsch is Andy Calf Leather Strap. A unique hybrid of black leather with treated rubber underbelly. This gives a bold look to otherwise black leather. I find it to be a bit more racing inspired, and with several color options available (and alligator pattern), it wouldn’t be hard to find something to match it to. You can find them for $136 USD.
Tiger Calf Leather
Another top tier hybrid strap from Hirsch, is the Tiger Calf Leather. Once again, the racing inspired rally strap features a perforated rubber underbelly in a cross-hatch pattern. This gives the watch some superb flexibility, and a serious way to wear a leather watch strap in the heat, cause the stickiness and humidity are basically null and void with a rubber underbelly. As opposed to a fully leather strap which can get damaged or have it’s color and texture turned. You can pick up a Tiger Calf Strap for $125 USD.
Brady’s Straps
While their website might look like something out of the early 2000s, don’t be mistaken, Brady’s Straps makes some high quality watch straps. And Brady’s appears to have survived the dotcom bust and is still going strong selling watch accessories. Joking aside, Brady’s is known for creating the original Sailcloth strap, a trend that has been gaining steam recently. So if you are looking for the sailcloth look, look no further than Brady’s.
Original Sailcloth
As we have said, if you don’t know Brady’s, you should. The company created the first Sailcloth strap, a trend that has been growing recently. And what is a sailcloth strap? Sailcloth straps are made with woven patterns and materials similar to those used for making sails. The result is a unique design that adds some character to your typical watch. Brady’s Sailcloth straps retail for just $34.95 USD.
Distressed Leather
While Brady’s might be best known for their sailcloth straps, the also offer other straps. In particular, we really like their distressed leather straps. It can be hard to find leather watch straps that are both affordable and have that worn, distressed look, but Brady did a great job. Perfect for that go anywhere, do everything tool watch, the Brady distressed leather straps retail for $34.95 USD.
Ritche
If you are looking for high quality straps offered in many different materials and at affordable prices, Ritche Watch Bands might be of interest to you. Offering everything from leather, to nylon, to silicon, you can change the look of your timepiece for under $20 USD.
Sailcloth
While Brady’s may be the original sailcloth strap, other brands produce them as well. And if you want a sailcloth strap that is less expensive, and available on Amazon Prime, Ritche makes a nice one. Offered in a variety of colors and stitching finishes, the Ritche sailcloth strap retails for between $18.50 USD and $20 USD.
Vented Rubber
As opposed to their Tropical Rubber strap, Strap Habit’s Vented Rubber Strap is more modern, bold and industrial in look. This strap is big, bold and chunky. Perhaps its perfect for that oversized Panerai? If the vintage-inspired watches and straps are not for you, pick up a Vented Rubber strap for your watch for just $32.95 USD.
Veblenist
Subtle and understated are the words Veblenist uses to describe their straps. These handcrafted straps showcase the fine attention to detail that some artisans take when creating watch straps. And we appreciate that very much. But while Veblenist’s straps might be understated, they are still stunning and unique. If you are looking for something a little more bespoke without being outright custom, check out Veblenist.
Carbon Black Ridged
The Carbon Black Ridges strap is one of our favorites from Veblenist. While the watch is made from a supple calfksin, the uniqueness comes from the pattern. The embossed ridges, are present throughout the entire watch, giving it an almost Scandinavian, contemporary look. If you are looking for something a little different out of your calfskin leather watch strap, the Carbon Black Ridged strap retails for $105 USD and will look great on your wrist.
Ironwood
If you are looking for a high quality, distressed leather strap to go with your vintage, or vintage-inspired, tool watch, the Veblenist Ironwood is a great choice. The watch is made from extra-soft calfskin and only features minimal stitching near the lugs. This strap would look perfect on the 1970s Rolex Submariner, modern Tudor Black Bay 54 or 58, or even a pilots watch. You can pick up the Ironwood for $105 USD.
Bark & Jack
Bark & Jack’s founder, Adrian Barker, might be better known for his fledgling YouTube channel, or for being 1/3 of the recently departed About Effing Time podcast (of which we were big fans). But in addition to his social media fame, Barker sells some very nice watch straps at incredibly competitive prices. Best known for their NATO-style straps, you can’t go wrong with Bark & Jack.
Ribbed Nylon
Our favorite of Bark & Jack’s NATO-style straps is their ribber nylon strap. NATO straps can sometimes feel low quality, but that’s not the case with the Ribbed Nylon strap. In addition to being tightly woven and 1.4mm-thick, Bark & Jack uses stainless steel hardware and their nylon is “ballistic” nylon. If you are interested in picking up a Ribber Nylon strap, Bark & Jack offers 6 different color options, each for just $31 USD .
Leather
In addition to nylon straps, Bark & Jack also has a limited offering of leather watch bands. Their vintage-style straps aren’t pre-distressed (you get to wear them in yourself), but they are simple and handsome. Offering in just two colors (black or brown), Bark & Jack’s leather straps retail for $94 USD.
FracheHandcraft
Sometimes, we want the convenience and reliability of Amazon Prime, but also want something of quality. That’s where Frachehandcraft comes in. If you are looking for a leather watch strap that is handmade, doesn’t break the bank, and you can quickly order on Amazon, this is a great brand to look at.
Epsom Top Grain
The Epsom Top Grain is nothing Earth-shattering. But that’s what not makes the strap so nice. The strap is handmade in France from Italian leather, and you can easily order it on Amazon. What’s not to like about that. Offered in black, brown, red, grey and navy, you can’t go wrong at just $58.99 USD.
StrapSeeker
Strapseeker may not be a household name in the strap game, but they produce some high quality watch straps. Particularly, we like the way Strapseeker combines materials to create “hybrid” straps. This allows for their straps to be durable, while also affordable at the same time.
Theo Hybrid
The Theo Hybrid by Strapseeker combines the sturdiness of rubber with the style of nylon to create some extremely sporty watch straps. Think sporty like the straps fitted on Richard Mille watches, but obviously at a much lesser price-point. While these obviously are not up to the same standards as a Richard Mille strap, they are still well made and are available in a bunch of different colors at just $39.99 USD.
Watts Leather Rubber Hybrid
If you like the look of a leather strap, but want something a little sturdy, the Watts strap combines FKM rubber with calfskin leather. The rubber lines the inside of the watch for additional comfort and to protect the leather. This is a pretty innovative way to produce straps and we really like it. While the strap is available in 7 different colors, we think the Aqua Blue might be our favorite. You can pick up any color strap for $49.99 USD.
Strap Habit
If you are looking for affordable straps to swap onto your watch, Strap Habit is one of the bigger players in the game. Offering everything from rubber, to sailcloth, to leather or even hybrid straps, you can surely find what you’re looking for from Strap Habit.
Tropical Rubber
Strap Habit’s Tropical Strap is a handsome FKM rubber strap that looks perfect on that vintage style watch. The watches will look perfect on that vintage Seiko diver from the 70s or a more modern DOXA Sub 300 with some vintage charm. Offered in 15 different colorways, including with some more “out there” camo designs, you can pick up a tropic rubber strap for between $30.95 and $34.95 USD .
Vented Rubber
As opposed to their Tropical Rubber strap, Strap Habit’s Vented Rubber Strap is more modern, bold and industrial in look. This strap is big, bold and chunky. Perhaps its perfect for that oversized Panerai? If the vintage-inspired watches and straps are not for you, pick up a Vented Rubber strap for your watch for just $32.95 USD .
