INTRODUCING: The Longines HydroConquest GMT 43mm
Longines is known for quality Swiss-made timepieces that most watch collectors can afford. One of their best known watches is the sporty HydroConquest, which was released in 2007. Last year, Longines expanded the collection to include 41mm GMT models. Now, to cater to fans of larger watches, Longines is releasing a 43mm HydroConquest GMT in 5 dial/strap combinations - Something that a lot of enthusiasts have been asking for.
It’s always interesting to watch a brand actually listen to their buyers or potential buyers. The Longines HydroConquest GMT has long been a popular model in the brands catalogue. The 41mm size has been popular size, especially over the last few years, but a lot of enthusiasts wanted something a little bigger for a tool diver. This is an example of a brand actually listening, then further, delivering to their enthusiasts. So lets get into the watch itself.

THE JUICE:
This timepiece is made for the adventurer - for those who want a tough timepiece to keep up with their everyday life. With 300 meters of water resistance, a unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel; and a screw-in crown, the HydroConquest GMT can function as a diving watch or an everyday wear. To aid the diver or night owl, the HydroConquest includes excellent luminosity courtesy of Super-LumiNova.
The 43mm HydroConquest GMT is available in a black, blue, and green dial with a sunray effect. Our favorite is hands down the military green sunray dial. The vintage lume and handsets bring a really rugged feel that isn’t often seen on many modern dive watches. It’s a charming mix of the old and the new that feels fresh, even though military watches have been around for a really long time. For those who prefer an even sportier feel, the black and blue dials have a rubber strap option instead of the stainless steel bracelet. The vibrant dial is complimented by a matching triangle on the GMT hand.
Powering their newest GMT’s is the Longines calibre L844.5 - a movement with extreme magnetic resistance and a power reserve of up to 72 hours.
With a sizable collection including a variety of colorways, case sizes, and GMT vs. normal movements, the HydroConquest is a perfect landing spot for collectors and the general population. It’s a watch that’s tough enough to withstand the everyday grind and versatile enough to bring it to beach day. Now with the advent of the 43mm GMT, there really is a HydroConquest for everyone. There’s serious value proposition when it comes to Longines as a brand, and I think they’re noticing it. Like I said earlier, it’s been great to see a brand actually take notes on what their fans want. This makes us excited to see what the brand has up its sleeve for the future.
