INTRODUCING: Norqain Wild One Gold & Wild One Black

Norqain is a young independent brand carving a serious space for themselves in the world of sport watches. Their niche, thus far, has really been the toughness and sport-capability of their watches - a reputation that they bolster though partnerships like the NHLPA and the TCS New York City Marathon. Their three lines all feature overly capable watches that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are durable. Now, they bring their flagship line to all new heights with the Wild ONE Gold & Wild ONE All Black.

THE JUICE:

The Wild ONE is Norqain’s signature offering and a line that earns them a ton of praise. Taking into consideration all the technical capabilities, the refined detail of the case, dial, and movement combine to form a package that I believe is representative of the ethos of the brand. Incredible craftsmanship, industry-leading capability, and top-notch finishing - seem to be what Norqain is all about.

For the first time ever in the company’s history, albeit short, Norqain is offering a piece encased in 18K red gold. This represents, I believe, a strong effort to establish themselves in the higher-end luxury market. Only 99 will be sold to the public, with a special 100th being auctioned off for charity. Use of their patented NORTEQ composite in conjunction with gold allows the piece to retain all its ruggedness. The Wild ONE All Black is encased entirely in NORTEQ, helping it to be multiple times lighter than steel and titanium while remaining scratch-resistant. Each piece can withstand a staggering 5000g of force, making them truly top of the line when it comes to performance sport watches. Also rated to 200 meters of water resistance, there really isn’t much these pieces can’t handle.

I believe this is a huge step for Norqain. The use of a solid gold case represents a strong push into the high-end luxury world for a young brand known for sporty watches. Hopefully we continue to see them stretch push in this direction.
