INTRODUCING: The Rolex Deepsea in Full Yellow Gold

There’s something about a gold Rolex… A Rolex is a cultural icon and a status symbol in and of itself. But a gold Rolex feels like the choice of royalty. But what if you’re a deep-sea diver? THE JUICE:

Rolex is known for unexpected innovation and that’s exactly what the Deepsea unveil is. Originally released in 2008, the Deepsea is full of technology to allow for significant dive distances. While the depth rating is not as high as 2022’s Deepsea Challenge, the Deepsea allows for a massive depth of 3,900 meters / 12,800 feet. As the depth allows for diving over 2 miles deep, this will suit almost any diver. The timepiece includes a helium escape valve and Rolex’s Ringlock System to allow for that strong depth rating.

With the case and bracelet being made of vibrant 18k yellow gold, this may be the most luxurious diver ever made from an appearance standpoint. To allow for immaculate purity of its gold, Rolex has taken a bold move that is unique within the watch world; the brand has installed its own foundry to completely control the gold’s start-to-finish creation. Brilliant yellow gold combines with the solid blue dial in a complementary way. The timepiece’s bezel is created from a blue Cerachrom insert for maximum scratch resistance. To allow for superb legibility in the depths of the ocean, Rolex uses its signature Chromalight luminescent technology on the watch’s hands, bezel, and indices. The luminescent material shows as solid, bright white during the day but glows a fitting blue in the dark.

At the heart of the Rolex Deepsea is an automatic movement with a bidirectional perpetual rotor. As an instrument of precision, the watch is rated to only gain or lose 2 seconds a day. The movement is shock-resistant and holds a power reserve of 70 hours. The brand has also opted for a solid titanium caseback like the 2022 release of the updated Deepsea. It’s not the prettiest caseback, but it offsets the weight a little bit and is necessary for the updated Ringlock system.

At this year’s Watches and Wonders, Rolex has created a crowd-pleaser that is the perfect blend of utility and aesthetics. The Deepsea has an incredible depth rating yet does so in style via its 18k yellow-gold exterior. With solid dive watch technology and luminosity, this is the perfect timepiece for a diver with a flair for luxury - Despite how heavy this thing is sure to be.

So how much is the new Rolex Deepsea Watch?
