THE JUICE:
Boasting a striking green dial, this watch pays homage to the brand’s history by reintroducing the collecting world to an iconic dial layout. Tag Heuer introduced the DATO style dial back in 1968, with the funky 9 o’clock date wheel that is as handsome as it is memorable. The singular chronograph sundial, positioned at 3 o’clock, has come to lovingly be known as the ‘cyclop’ by enthusiasts (just don’t say that to a Rolex wearer!)
New to the collection is a striking green dial, that seems to change as light hits it. While many green dials lean more toward black in certain lights, the teal green of this Tag Heuer dial seems more likely to read blue in different lights. The blue hues evident in the dial add enormous depth and richness to the color. Rhodium-plated hands provide a nice contrast, and help boost legibility. Paired with a gorgeous alligator leather strap and folding clasp, this watch beautifully walks the line between sporty and sophisticated - and in this writer’s opinion, it would be appropriate in both settings!
Tag Heuer has been on a tear releasing incredible chronographs to the market, and this is no exception. It’s safe to say that fans of the brand and newcomers alike can appreciate the sleek and sporty Tag Carrera Chronograph DATO
