INTRODUCING: Tag Heuer Carrera 'Year of the Dragon' Collection

2024 is the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese lunar calendar and Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer is releasing an epic timepiece to mark the occasion.  Available in both a steel version and an 18k 5N rose gold version, the Carrera Chronograph Year of the Dragon is a strong yet subtle tribute to a strong creature.  Upon first glance of the watch, the only "dragon" branding is a Chinese character on the center of the dial.  On the back, however, the exhibition caseback has a dragon that steals the show.

To celebrate the Year of the Dragon,  TAG Heuer pulls out all the stops with a watch that blends its characteristic racing style with Chinese culture.  The Year of the Dragon watch is 42mm in diameter and the case surrounds a sunray-style dial.  Accenting the watch is a hint of red - visible on the subdials, the second hand, and the slightly red hue of the alligator leather strap.

All elements of the watch work together to give a nod to one of the most powerful mythical creatures of all time.  The most obvious and impressive dragon element is on the exhibition caseback.  Turn the watch over and you'll see not just a stunning view of the Calibre Heuer 02 movement; you'll also see a dragon in a circular shape around the movement.

As if the Chinese New Year being right around the corner wasn't reason enough to pick one up, there are only 300 of the steel version being made and just 50 of the gold.

How much is the Carrera Chronograph ‘Year of the Dragon’ Watch?

The price for the steel version of the watch will come in at $6,800 USD and the gold version of the watch will come in at $24,350 USD.
