BREAKING: HYT Watches Is Back, Baby!

In a surprise that caught a lot of people by surprise, HYT has taken to Instagram to announce that it’s resuming production of an all new model in January.

It seems that this move will kickstart the brand once again with an all new line of watches to be revealed in January. After a some-what awkward hiatus with some undisclosed issues, the futuristic and innovative brand seemed to cut production all at once this time last year. Without any major news coming from the brand itself, HYT’s rumored financial issues seemed to finally overtake the the support needed to continue.

Montblanc’s former Managing Director, David Cerrato looks to be at the helm. David’s has helped MontBlanc grow into a formidable watch maison in his time with the brand, and I’m personally excited to see what he does with HYT - a brand already known for innovation, and also some glaring QC issues. The future for the brand looked dire, but I truly believe that Davide is the right man for the job. If Davide can help MontBlanc grow from pens and leather specialists into the watch juggernaut that it is today, the future for HYT looks bright.

I’m excited to see what January brings us, and am excited to see the return of an industry leader in technical innovation with Cerrato at the helm. With some good social media presence and good looking watches, HYT already has the hype to successfully come back to the forefront of technical independent space. I, for one, am excited to see what the future holds for HYT. Here’s to a successful re-launch in January.
