The All-New Tag Heuer Autavia Chronometer Flyback
Kicking off the new year, Tag Heuer has released two all new models with starkly different looks for the 60th Anniversary of the Autavia Collection. One with a monochromatic take on one of the brands signature chronographs, and the second a triple black Chronograph that’s bold, but fresh. Both watches feel like a natural progression to the contemporary look to the Autavia Collection as well as the addition of a Flyback Chronograph.

THE JUICE:
The Autavia collection has gone through a bit of a revival the last few years. I story short at calling it a “comeback” because I’m not sure how popular the models have actually been among enthusiasts, though personally, I’ve been a fan of watching the brand rework the modes into the contemporary modes they’ve become. These two additions fee like a perfect progression to the collection, even if they do feel a bit safe (we’ve recently seen the brand bring back the DLC Coated Aquaracer).
The models feature a stainless steel case, one is polished, the other is finely brushed DLC. The black model feels a bit more tactical, which I find pretty appealing and a little out of the box for the current catalogue of Autavia models. They both feature a black ceramic insert bezel and lume filled indices.
But the real draw is the reworked Heuer-02 Calibre. Featuring a Flyback module with a vertical clutch and column wheel. The movement is COSC certified and features the Flyback function enthusiasts know and love.
Both models fit well into the overall aesthetic of the modern take on the Autavia. I’ve felt the brand has needed a strong start to 2022, and this has certainly felt like just that. While I’ll reserve my final judgement of the models until I see them in the metal, I can’t imagine they will be a disappointment.
How much is the Tag Heuer Autavia Chronometer Flyback?
