INTRODUCING: The All-New Rolex Day-Date Ice Blue Dial with Fluted Bezel
Fluted is always better! And I don’t know if it’s just me, but I think Rolex agrees. For those of you who love an all-platinum watch, the time has come. In addition to the handful of other major releases, Rolex has finally given the world their first all platinum 40 mm Day-Date with a fluted bezel.
Today, Rolex announced a handful of new pieces for their 2022 collection, including several incredible Day-Dates. But in the madness of all the releases, one really stands out - The new 40 mm Day-Date in platinum.
The Basics:
Brand: Rolex

The Juice:
This isn’t the first time we’re seeing a 40 mm Day-Date in the 950 Platinum. Rolex previously released the platinum Day-Date with the Ice-Blue dial, but never with a fluted bezel. Personally, I think adding this option is a long time coming, although I can see where it might upset Day-Date enthusiasts.
The combination of The President Bracelet with a fluted bezel has proven to be a more popular option, but has typically been reserved (for the most part) to gold models. And now that it’s added to an all-platinum watch, I personally feel it’s the best thing Rolex could have done for their Day-Date enthusiasts, but not everyone seems to agree.
Fitted with the Rolex Calibre 3255, the Day-Date 40 is one of the most technically advanced pieces Rolex has to offer. Released in 2015, the 3255 is equipped with the Chronergy escapement, which is basically an enhanced form of the lever escapement utilizing 14 patents from the brand. Offering the wearer approximately 70 hours of power reserve and a precision of -2/+2 seconds per day.
Offered in an Ice-Blue, Black, or Silver dial, the all platinum Day-Date is definitely one of the more opulent timepiece that Rolex offers. Additionally, as if a full Platinum watch wasn’t enough, Rolex offer’s a more glitzy option by incorporating diamond indexes on the dial. But for anyone that knows the Day-Date (Especially on President’s Bracelet), it’s a watch that definitely catches the eye from across the room. And now that it can be found in platinum with a fluted bezel, well, good luck trying to hide it on your wrist!
So how much is the Rolex Platinum Day-Date 40 Ice Blue?
Unfortunately, like all the other platinum models Rolex offers, the price is on request.
