Adam Levine’s Watch Collection - Rolex and Patek Philippe, Vintage and Modern
When I think of celebrity watch collectors, and in particular a Rolex collector, Adam Levine is one of the first to come to mind. While he is clearly a watch collector, Levine focuses his collection almost solely on Rolex. But there is definitely diversity in Maroon Five lead singer’s Rolex collection. Similar to John Mayer, Levine mixes the old and the new with some nice vintage Rolexes in his collection.
Adam Levine’s Rolex Submariner Watches
As you read this article you’ll see a bit of a trend. Adam Levine sitting courtside, enjoying a basketball game, and wearing a nice timepiece. One of Levine’s more understated timepieces is his Rolex Submariner “Kermit” Ref. 16610T. This watch was released as a limited edition on the 50th anniversary of the Submariner’s initial release. However, Rolex recently released an updated variation with darker green ceramic bezel and black dial (it replaced the Rolex Hulk in Rolex’s lineup). The new variation is more commonly referred to as the Starbuck due to the colors more closely resembling the Starbucks logo. The Rolex Submariner “Kermit” Ref. 16610T is currently selling on the secondary market for anywhere from $18,000 USD to $30,000 USD.
Levine has also been spotted wearing a much more, shall I say, icy Rolex Submariner. Levine has been seen wearing the Rolex Submariner Ref. 116659SABR in white gold with diamonds on the bezel, bracelet and lugs, as well as sapphires on the bezel. This very rare Submariner was introduced by Rolex at BaselWorld in 2018 with a list price of around $127,220 USD (it has now been discontinued). The Ref. 116659SABR with diamond bracelet is currently selling on the secondary market for between $350,000 USD and $420,000 USD.
Adam Levine’s Modern Rolex Daytona Watches
While Levine’s collection includes multiple different Rolex models, vintage or new he clearly has a favorite: the Rolex Daytona. The modern Daytonas in Levine’s collection are all heavy hitters, including his yellow gold Daytona with green dial (aka the “John Mayer”) Ref. 116508. The Mayer Daytona is the most desirable of the gold Daytonas. While it has a retail price of $37,550 USD it is currently selling on the grey market for between $100,000 USD and $125,000 USD.
Levine has also been spotted wearing the holy grail of modern Rolex Daytonas, the “Platona” (platinum Daytona). The platinum Daytona Ref. 116506 retails for $75,650 USD but is currently selling on the secondary market for $150,000 USD or more.
The final modern Daytona that has been spotted wearing is definitely his flashiest. It is the very rare after rose gold Rolex Daytona Ref. 116595RBOW. Each of the 36 baguette sapphire gems around the bezel of this Daytona is hand selected for the specific hue (and to show a nice transition from one color to the next). The last price reported for this watch was at a sky high $520,000 USD.
Adam Levine’s Vintage Rolex Daytona Watches
As previously mentioned, Adam is also a big fine of vintage Rolexes. He has been spotted wearing multiple different vintage Daytonas, including a vintage “Paul Newman” Daytona Ref. 6240 with white panda dial. Similar vintage Newman Daytonas are available for sale on the secondary market for around $500,000 USD.
Levine has also been spotted wearing a few vintage gold Daytonas. One of the gold Daytonas is the Ref. 6263 with black dial. Interestingly, this piece was offered with a factory jubilee bracelet (not something you see often on a Daytona, at least not on modern Daytonas). A gold Daytona Ref. 6263 similar to Levine’s would likely command over $200,000 USD on the secondary market.
Levine’s gold 6263 isn’t his only vintage Daytona on a jubilee bracelet. He has also been spotted wearing a Ref. 6264 with gold bezel, gold dial and black subdials. The Ref. 6265 was produced a little more recently, into the 1980s and thus is a little more affordable. You can find them on the grey market for between $125,000 USD and $170,000 USD.
Adam Levine’s Rolex Day-Date Watches
Levine has also been seen wearing a few Day-Dates, both modern and vintage. Recently, he was seen wearing the yellow gold Rolex Day-Date Ref. 228238 with champagne dial. This watch also includes the President bracelet first launched by Rolex in 1956. The Rolex Day-Date Ref. 228238 retails for $37,450 and is currently selling on the secondary market for around $50,000 USD.
Levine’s remaining Day-Dates are 1970s era vintage Rolexes with “Stella” dials. The Stella dials are bright and colorful and made of a hard enamel. The Voice judge has been spotted on the show wearing his white gold Stella dial Rolex Day-Date Ref. 1803A with white dial and diamond indices. While not many of these pieces are available for sale, recent sales on the secondary market seem to be in the $60,000 USD range.
Levine has also been spotted wearing another Stella dial vintage Rolex Day-Date, a yellow gold Day-Date with pink dial. This piece, likely a Ref. 18038 from the mid-1980s (but perhaps another Ref. 1803), has not been up for auction or sale recently. One with a leather strap sold at auction in 2019 for 40,000 CHF (around $40,000 USD).
Adam Levine’s Patek Philippe Nautilus Watch
The final watch in Levine’s collection I am going to feature is not a Rolex, but it is a vintage classic nonetheless. The only Patek Philippe I have spotted Levine wearing is the yellow gold Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 3800. This classic Genta designed piece pairs the yellow gold case and bracelet with a traditional blue dial. The Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 3800 is currently selling on the secondary market for between $110,000 USD and $160,000 USD.
