22 Best Rainbow Watches at all Price-Points for 2023
Rainbow watches have become one of the bigger trends in the watch industry in recent years. Initially, rainbow watches consisted of uber-expensive brands like Rolex and Hublot with gem-set bezels. Recently, however, the rest of the industry has seem to catch on with a slew of more affordable options from Swiss Brands and microbrands alike. So what are our favorite rainbow watches? We take a look at 22 different rainbow watches from affordable to luxury.
Rolex Daytona Rainbow 116595RBOW
When it comes to a rainbow bezel watch, the Rolex Daytona Rainbow 116595RBW immediately comes to mind. This is the rainbow watch that started off the entire craze. The Everose (rose gold case) variation is perhaps the most recognizable of the rainbow Daytonas and most appealing to collectors. This piece features an amazing 47 sapphires, 36 baguette-cut sapphires on the bezel and 11 additional sapphires on the indices. Additionally, diamonds adourne the lugs and crown guard. The watch is such a status symbol, you’ll often see celebrities rocking the rainbow Rolex Daytona. Price on the secondary market for the rainbow Daytona is around $500,000 USD.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold Double Balance Wheel Openworked
Perhaps the second most recognizable rainbow watch belongs to Audemars Piguet. Audemars Piguet has actually fitted a few of their models with a rainbow bezel that is only broken upon by the 8 signature screws. One of our favorite rainbow Royal Oaks is the frosted white gold Double Balance Wheel Openworked. The case and bracelet are a frosted white gold, while the bezel is set with 32 baguette-cut rainbow-colored sapphires (for a total of 2.24 carats). The timepiece also features a skeleton dial that showcases the watch’s beautiful Calibre 3132 automatic movement. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold Double Balance Wheel Openworked Ref. 15468BC has a retail price of $104,600 USD but is available on the secondary market for almost three times that price.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Music Edition
Wrist Enthusiast couldn’t publish the best rainbow watches without including a second Royal Oak, the Music Edition. The 43mm white gold piece, Ref. 15601BC, not only features a rainbow bezel set with gemstones, but a blue aventurine dial with gemstones that mimics VU meter lights like those found on the equalizers of audio mixers or recording consoles. This piece was very limited, and retailed for $222,000 USD. We’ve even seen the Royal Oak Music Edition on musicians like John Mayer, which makes a lot of sense to us.
Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Skeleton 6-15
If you’re looking for a rainbow watch with skeleton dial but don’t want to spend the exorbitant prices of the Royal Oak Openworked or a Hublot Big Bang, the new Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Skeleton 6-15 is a great option. Zodiac took their popular Super Sea Wolf collection, opened up the dial and added a funky rainbow bezel. No the bezel is not gem-set (it is a colored sapphire insert), but you get a similar aesthetic at a fraction of the price. A true rainbow watch for us mere mortals. This limited edition of 300 just launched and retails for $1,895 USD.
Hublot Big Bang One Click Rainbow King Gold
Hublot might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they are one of the most recognizable brands offering multiple rainbow bezel watches. One of our favorite pieces is the Hublot Big Bang One Click Rainbow King Gold. With the One Click Rainbow King Gold, Hublot takes their popular 39 mm Big Bang and adds a whole lot of bling. Like the Royal Oak, the bezel is set in between the screws with 48 baguette-cut colored gemstones (rubies, pink sapphires, amethysts, blue sapphires, blue topazes, tsavorites, yellow sapphires and orange sapphires). What makes this piece unique, however, is that the dial and lugs continue the same pattern from the bezel with additional gems to create a truly magnificent piece. The Hublot Bing Bang One Click Rainbow King Gold 39mm retails for $87,400 USD.
Hublot Big Bang Integrated King Gold Rainbow
As we said, Hublot has multiple offerings with a rainbow bezel. Another piece we really like is the 42mm Hublot Big Bang Integrated King Gold Rainbow. The Big Bang Integrated King Gold Rainbow continues the rainbow motif (and gems) throughout the entire watch. Beyond the gem-set bezel, the gems continue on the case and throughout the gem-set bezel. The dial is skeletonized so there aren’t gems on the dial, but the hour markers match the color of the corresponding gems in the bezel. Released at LVMH Watch Week 2023, the Hublot Bing Bang Integrated King Gold Rainbow retails for $169,000 USD.
Richard Mille RM68-01 Cyril Kongo
The Richard Mille RM68-01 Cyrl Kongo doesn’t have a rainbow bezel like the previous watches on our list. Instead the rehaut and movement are hand-painted in an array of different colors by French painter and graffiti artist Cyril Kongo. Because of this, each piece is unique. And because the watch is a Richard Mille and has tourbillon, the price for this piece is a sky-high $685,000 USD. Only 30 pieces were ever made, making it one of the rarest rainbow watches on the market.
Jacob & Co. Mystery Tourbillon Rainbow
If you are looking for something with a lot of gems, look no further than Jacob & Co. So it makes sense that Jacob & Co. would have a few “rainbow” pieces. Our absolute favorite has to be the Jacob & Co. Mystery Tourbillon Rainbow. The domed sapphire crystal features 312 multicolored sapphires and diamonds totaling over 24 carats. And in the center of the dial two triple-axis tourbillons are positioned back-to-back to provide some additional visual flare. The two inner rotating discs act indicate the hours (inner) and minutes (outer) with the diamonds acting as the actual indicators. The Jacob & Co. Mystery Tourbillon Rainbow retails for $1,300,000 USD.
Jacob & Co. Fleurs De Jardin Rainbow
The second Jacob & Co. on our list is one that is a little more delicate in the execution. For the Fleurs De Jardin Jacob & Co. took the famous Astronomia vertical double-axis flying tourbillon movement and created a whole new flower-inspired watch geared towards women. The 42.5mm is large, but actually smaller than many of the other Astronomia models. Like many of Jacob & Co.’s offerings, there is little actual case and a lot of sapphire crystal. The top and bottom portion of the sapphire is adorned with rings of rainbow gems, along with additional gems on the movement. The Jacob & Co. Fleurs de Jardin retails for $440,000 USD.
Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” Chronograph
The Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” Chronograph may be marketed as a ladies watch by Patek Philippe, but at 40mm (well 39.9) we think it’s wearable by anyone. The watch features a white dial with self-winding chronograph movement. The star of the show is the bezel that has two rings, the inner ring comprised of 50 baguette cut diamonds, and the outer ring comprised of 52 baguette-cut multicored sapphires. The hour markers have both the number and a colored sapphire that matches the sapphire ring of the bezel. Overall, its one of our favorite, somewhat subtle, takes on a rainbow watch. The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” Chronograph retails for $212,900 USD.
Breitling SuperOcean Heritage ‘57 Special Edition
When Breitling released the Superocean Heritage ‘57, we were legitimately shocked. The boutique edition is a formidable dive watch with some playful aesthetics - Something that isn’t exactly a native Breitling trait. Instead of a bezel gradient, the watch utilizes its Rainbow color scheme on the indices and hands. It’s not something we’ve seen out of Breitling before but we love it. The watch comes on a stainless steel milanese bracelet, which fits the watch well. The watch is priced at $5,200 USD..
Casio G-Shock GM5600SN-1
If you've followed us for any amount of time, you'll know we're huge fans of the Casio G-Shock line. There are a number of different styles and configurations, but the standard "G-Shock" tends to be one of the most classic. Casio offers this G-shock in a really cool treated rainbow case. No two are exactly the same with the ion-treated case. The watch is designed after a nighttime skyline, which encourages the dark blues and pinks in the case. It's a really unique take on the more traditional "Rainbow" features on most of the watches on this list. Price for the Casio G-Shock GM5600SN-1 is a modest $230 USD..
Audric Seaborne
Audric is a microbrand based out of Singapore that focuses on Swiss Made dive watches. And the Audric on our list, the Seaborne, is probably the most understated “rainbow” watch on the list. Available in a few different dial colors, all Seaborne models have a multi-colored rehaut that adds a bit of flare to what might otherwise be considered a standard diver. But with 500 meters of water resistance, the Seaborne can really hold its out as a legitimate diver with some aesthetic value. You can pick up the Audric Seaborne for $999 USD.
OceanX Sharkmaster 1000
Another microbrand that has really gone all in on the rainbow bezel is OceanX. The Sharkmaster 1000 is actually a heavy duty diver that can hit depths of 1000 meters. Beyond that, the watch includes a cubic zirconia rainbow bezel reminiscent of the bezel on the Daytona. Powered by a Seiko NH35 automatic movement, the Sharkmaster is an affordable dive watch that is perfect for those that want the blinged out look without laying down the cash. The OceanX Sharkmaster 1000 retails for $560 USD.
Code41 X41 Titanium Rainbow
We are big fans of CODE41 and the way they crowdsource their designs. It allows the brand to create unique watches that still appeal to their clientele. Among CODE41’s offerings, the X41 Titanium Rainbow is one of our favorite pieces. The skeleton dial with rainbow accents pairs well with the sporty titanium case and rubber strap. While the watch is not cheap at $6,600 USD, you actually are getting a lot of watch for your money. It’s an excellent option for those that want a rainbow watch executed in a unique and subtle way.
Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Tourbillon Galaxy Rainbow
A rainbow bezel, avneturine dial and tourbillon all in one watch? Sign us up. Parmigiani Fleurier has been hitting home run after home run recently with its Tonda line, and the Tonda 1950 Tourbillon Galaxy Rainbow doesn’t disappoint. The watch not only features a stunning aventurine dial that showcases the watch’s tourbillon movement, but the bezel is adorned with blue, pink, orange, and yellow sapphires, rubies, Tsavorites, and amethysts. Price for the Tonda 1950 Tourbillon Galaxy Rainbow is 165,000 CHF (around $182,000 USD).
Oris Aquis Date Upcycle
Oris is all about sustainability, and there is no watch that showcases this mission better than the Aquis Date Upcycle. The dial is made from recycle plastic, which not only is good for the environment, but ensures that every dial is completely unique from one another. The dials we’ve seen on different Aquis Date Upcycles include pops of many different colors, making them true rainbow watches in our opinion. The Aquis Date Upcycle is available in both 36.5mm and 41.5mm with the larger model retailing for 2,500 USD.
Timex Q Rainbow
Timex makes some fun watches at extremely affordable prices. And perhaps no Timex is more fun then the Q Rainbow. Available in both steel with a white dial and black with black dial (and rainbow bracelet), the Timex Q Rainbow features rainbow hour markers and corresponding rainbow bezel markers. The Timex Q Rainbow retails for $199 USD in black and $189 USD in silver.
Zenith Defy 21 Chroma 49.9010.9004/01.R947
Zenith has made a name for itself producing skeleton dial watches powered by their workhorse El Primero movement. And the Defy 21 Chroma is no exception. The watch ceramic watch features an open dial that is only obscured by the chronograph’s subdials. The watch has a a rainbow motif showcased not only in the hour markers but in the movement visible in the dial. The Zenith Defy Chroma retails for $14,500 USD.
Tag Heuer Carrera Polychrome Tourbillon Chronograph
Beyond its most well known collections like the Carrera and Monaco, Tag Heuer has actually made a bit of a name for itself producing Swiss Made tourbillons that are actually (relatively) affordable. Instead of paying over $100,000 USD for a tourbillon you can get the Tag Heuer Carrera Polychrome Tourbillon Chronograph for for under $25,000 USD. Beyond the tourbillon, the watch features a titanium case, chronograph movement and of course a rainbow dial. Price for the Carrera Polychrome Tourbillon Chronograph is $24,050 USD.
Rowing Blazers X Seiko 5 Sport Rainbow
Rowing Blazers may be known for their preppy knitwear, but the clothing brand has actually collaborated on some interesting pieces with watch brands recently. The recent Rowing Blazers X Seiko collaboration is just one example of this. The collaboration included three different pieces with different bezel designs, including a checker and zigzag pattern, but our favorite is the rainbow design. Instead of brighter colors, Rowing Blazers and Seiko opted for darker, primary colors. But this just makes the watch stand out from the other pieces on the list. You can learn more about the collaboration here.
Ball Engineer II Rainbow
The final watch on our list is the Ball Engineer II Rainbow. Limited to just 1000 pieces, the watch features a coated titanium case and black dial with rainbow indices. The Engineer II Rainbow is definitely one of the more understated watches on our list. It retails for $2,299 USD.
