INTRODUCING: The Breitling Top Time Triumph "Ice Blue"

The Top Time Collection has become a bit of a breakout hit for Breitling. With the recent, and well-received release of the Classic Car Top Time, and even the older Deus Limited Edition, the brand has solidified the collection as a go-to for their more, shall we say, specific releases. Today, they’ve announced the Top Time Triumph - a cool new steel watch with an Ice Blue Dial.

THE JUICE:

When it comes to the Top Time Collection, almost every watch in the catalogue has been a hit in the enthusiast circles. Personally, of the collection, this has hands down been my favorite release. I’m not a motorcycle guy, so the Triumph connection doesn’t do it for me, but the ice blue dial is still trendy, even if it’s a bit more muted than (ahem…) the most popular blue of the industry.

The watch measures in at a modest 41mm in steel and features some cool matte black accents on the dial. Instead of the chrome indices, the brand opted for black ones that pop against the blue dial. The angular shape of the dial design provides some clarity to the old school TV-shaped subdials.

The dial color comes from two history references to the Triumph brand - The 6T Thunderbird from the 50’s movie The Wild One, and the Top-Time Breitling Ref. 815 from the 70’s. The Triumph logo sits above 6 o’ clock, while the Breitling logo sits underneath the 12 o’ clock.

Overall, the watch channels the bike well, and with the Top-Time being a bit more of the risky collection for Breitling, this fits well within it. It’s the brand’s little way to get on board with the new blue dial trend without completely pandering to the Tiffany Blue dial crowd. Personally? I’m a huge fan. It’s something new, but also something different. And I think that’s a big win for the brand.

How much is the Breitling Top Time Triumph?
