11 Best Mickey Mouse Watches - Plus 2 Bonus Disney Character Watches

The Walt Disney Company was founded in 1923 and has since become a mainstay in all of our lives. I imagine most of our readers have been to at least one of either Disney World or Disneyland, either in childhood or taking their children in adulthood. But Disney is not just a theme park. Disney’s presence runs in television (including ESPN, Hulu, and Disney Plus), movies (including Pixar and 20th Century Studios), among many other industries.

But invariably, when you think of Disney, you think of Mickey Mouse. Mickey made his origin publicly in the 1928 short film Steamboat Willie (which happened to be one of the first cartoons with sound). Ever since, Mickey Mouse has become the de facto mascot for Disney and perhaps the most famous cartoon character of all time.

Because of this interest, Mickey Mouse watch collecting has become something of a niche within the watch collecting niche. There are surely no shortage of Mickey watches for those that want them, and they range from extremely affordable to highly sought after and expensive. So here are our 11 favorite Mickey Mouse wristwatches at all price-points. Keep reading to the end to see 2 bonus Disney themed watches that we love.

Disney x Gucci Grip

2020 was the Year of the Rat (or Mouse) in the Chinese Lunar calendar. In honor of the year of the mouse, Gucci teamed up with Disney to create the Gucci Grip with a Mickey Mouse illustration on the case. The Grip is an interesting watch as it forgoes a typical three-hand analog dial for rotating hours and minutes that are displayed almost like a scale. In addition to the brushed steel variation, the Disney x Gucci Grip was offered with a gold-plated case. Though the watch has sold out, you can find the watch on the secondary market for between $1,000 USD and $2,000 USD.

Gerald Genta Mickey Mouse Jump Hour Golf Watch

Beyond designing the iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus (and multiple other watches) Gerald Genta might be best known for his Disney character watches produced under his eponymous line Gerald Genta. Genta’s Disney-themed watches were pretty ingenious, in many cases featuring Mickey’s (or whatever character was featured) articulating hands acting as the hour and minute hands. Some of the Genta Disney watches also included complications. The Mickey Mouse Golf watch features a jump hour and retrograde minutes, with Mickey’s golf club acting as the minute hand. Produced in the 1990s, the Mickey Mouse Jump Hour Golf Watch currently sells on the secondary market for around $8,000 USD.

Gerald Genta Mickey Mouse in the Gerald Genta Arena Retrograde Watch

In 2000, the Gerald Genta brand was bought by Bulgari, with many of its designs being incorporated into Bulgari’s lineup. In 2021, Bulgari relaunched Gerald Genta as its own brand, and the first watch they produced was a Mickey Mouse watch. The Mickey Mouse in the Gerald Genta Arena Retrograde stays true to its heritage, including both a jump hour and retrograde minutes. The watch is modernized and upsized to 41mm for the modern watch collector. The watch is limited to just 150 pieces and retailed for $16,500 USD.

Disney Mickey Mouse Adult Classic Cardiff Articulating Hands

The previous three Mickey Mouse watches were all on the pricier side, so we wanted to include some more affordable options. Disney sells their own unbranded Mickey Mouse watch with articulating hands. Although it is not a Genta Mickey watch, it is a great quartz budget option if you want the same style without breaking the bank. You can pick up this watch at Amazon for just $35.99 USD.

Citizen Eco-Drive Mickey Mouse Dive Watch

Citizen offers a wide range of affordable Disney-themed watches for collectors to choose from. We picked the Citizen Eco-Drive Mickey Mouse dive watch to feature on our list. The watch looks like a typical dive watch but has a playful illustration of a snorkeling Mickey Mouse on the dial. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters so it is just on the line of being a true dive watch (all the watches in our 60 Best Dive Watches Guide are water resistant to 200 meters). If you are looking for a Disney-themed dive watch, you can pick up the Citizen Eco-Drive Mickey for $230.86 USD.

Swatch x Damien Hirst Spot Mickey Watch

In 2018, to celebrate Mickey’s 90th birthday, Swatch teamed up with artist Damien Hirst to release the Spot Mickey watch. Two variations were made, one limited to 19,999 pieces with the other limited to just 1,999 pieces. Suffice it to say these watches sold out extremely quickly and have become collectors’ pieces (they initially retailed for $185 USD and $125 USD, respectively). While the Spot Mickey (pictured) is extremely rare and hard to find on the secondary market, the more common Mirror Spot Mickey can be had on the secondary market for around $500 USD.

Swatch x Keith Haring Mickey Mouse Watch

If you want a Swatch Mickey watch that you can actually buy right, there is always the Swatch X Keith Haring Mouse Mariniere. Though Haring passed away in 1990, Swatch used Keith Haring’s original illustration on this 2021 release. Haring’s illustration of Mickey is actually printed on the glass, creating a double-layered illusion with the white and red-striped dial as a backdrop. The case is on the smaller side at 34mm and runs on a quartz movement. The watch can be purchased for a very affordable $105 USD.

Undone Disney Mickey Collection “Guess Who’s Back”

Another of our favorite Mickey watches is a piece created by Undone, a brand best known for selling customizable watches. Like the Citizen we featured earlier, this Undone has the look of a dive watch (and is water resistant to 100 meters). The watch employs Mickey’s hands as the hour and minute hands. A big difference between this watch and the rest on the list? Only the back of Mickey is visible. The Undone Mickey “Guess Who’s Back” retails for $599 USD from Undone’s website. But it looks like it might only be available to residents of Macau and Hong Kong.

Rolex Oysterdate “Mickey Mouse” Ref. 6694

A Mickey Mouse Rolex can’t be real right? Well, nobody really knows. Occasionally, Rolex models from the 1960s through 1980s have shown up with the iconic Disney character on the dial. The question of whether these watches were the result of an actual collaboration between Disney and Rolex or the result of secondary market tampering is unknown to this day. Many Rolex collectors will note that Rolex is notoriously conservative and does not do collaborations (besides with COMEX in the 1970s). That makes us somewhat skeptical. But that hasn’t stopped these rare pieces from selling for premiums on the secondary market, including at prestigious auction houses. The pictured Rolex Oysterdate “Mickey Mouse” Ref. 6694, for example, was sold by Christies in 2019 for $9,375 USD.

Invicta x Disney Mickey Mouse Watch

We are not one to feature Invicta at Wrist Enthusiast very often, but we felt that this Invicta X Disney collaboration was actually not bad. Invicta actually has many different models of Mickey Mouse watches in their lineup, but this “two-tone” Invicta was our favorite. The watch is basically a Datejust copy, down to the jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel. So if you don’t want to spend close to $10,000 USD on a Mickey Rolex, you can purchase this Invicta for just $79.95 USD.

WALT DISNEY COMMISSIONED AND PERSONALLY GIFTED HAMILTON-RICOH DISNEYLAND ELECTRIC Watch

The final Mickey Mouse watch we are featuring is extremely rare and special. Not only is it the first Mickey Mouse watch made for adults (and limited to just 25 pieces), but Walt Disney commissioned this watch himself in 1965 and gave it to the designer of the watch Ralph Kent (who was a Disney artist nicknamed “The Keeper of the Mouse”). This watch was the watch that started it all (and yes it did have articulating hands). The watch was sold at auction by Christie’s in 2015 for $12,500 USD.

Gerald Genta Retro Fantasy Minnie Mouse WatCh

Mickey Mouse may be the most beloved of the Disney characters, but he definitely isn’t the only one. Because of this, we wanted to include a couple of bonus entries of watches with Mickey’s friends. The first up is a vintage Gerald Genta Minnie Mouse watch. This watch includes the same articulating hand, jump hours, and retrograde minutes as the Genta Mickey watches. The Gerald Genta Retro Fantasy Minnie Mouse is currently selling on the secondary market for around $6,500 USD.

Gerald Genta Jump Hour Donald Duck Watch

Another favorite of ours is the Gerald Genta Jump Hour watch with Donald Duck. Like the Mickey golf watch, this watch is also sport-themed. Donald Duck is holding a baseball bat, which also acts as the minute’s hand. True to Genta’s design, the watch has jump hours and retrograde minutes. Examples of this watch have sold on the secondary market in the past few years for around $4,000 USD.
